Fried Cheese Pastries (Çibörek)

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g pre-made pastry dough
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, feta cheese, onion, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Roll out the pastry dough and cut it into circles using a round cutter.
  3. Place a spoonful of the meat and cheese mixture onto each circle of dough.
  4. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then press the edges together to seal.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the pastries in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the pastries from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve the çibörek hot with your favorite dipping sauce or yogurt.
