Fried Cheese Rolls (Sufllaqe me Djathë të Prerë)

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 200g of feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the crusts off the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin.
  2. Divide the crumbled feta cheese among the bread slices and roll them up tightly.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. In another dish, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Dip each cheese roll in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the rolls until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove the rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the fried cheese rolls hot and enjoy!
