Fried Chhoila (तल्ला छोयला)
तल्ला छोयला (Fried Chhoila) is a traditional Newari dish that is popular in Nepal. It is made with marinated meat that is fried to perfection, resulting in a flavorful and spicy appetizer that is perfect for special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless meat (buffalo, chicken, or goat)
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the meat into small pieces and marinate it with mustard oil, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat a pan on the stovetop and fry the marinated meat until it is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Once the meat is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and add chopped onion, green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves. Mix well.
- तल्ला छोयला (Fried Chhoila) is ready to be served. Garnish with additional coriander leaves and serve as an appetizer.
