Fried Chhoyela (तल्ला छोयला)
तल्ला छोयला (Fried Chhoyela) is a traditional Newari dish that is popular in Nepal. It is made with marinated meat that is fried to perfection, resulting in a flavorful and aromatic appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless meat (chicken, lamb, or goat)
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Instructions
- Cut the meat into small pieces and marinate with mustard oil, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, lemon juice, green chilies, and coriander leaves. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat a pan on the stovetop and fry the marinated meat until it is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
