Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese (chhena)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying
  • Water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, knead the cottage cheese until smooth.
  2. Add cardamom powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the cottage cheese and mix well.
  3. Divide the mixture into small equal-sized portions and shape them into oval or rectangular pieces.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare a sugar syrup by boiling 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water until it reaches a sticky consistency.
  6. Dip the cottage cheese pieces in all-purpose flour and then deep fry them until golden brown.
  7. Remove the fried pieces from the oil and immediately immerse them in the sugar syrup for a few minutes.
  8. Once soaked, take them out and let them cool before serving.
