Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Use a round cutter to cut out doughnut shapes.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the fried doughnuts and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust the gogoși with powdered sugar before serving.
