Fried Haku Chhoila (तल्ला हाकु छोयला)

Haku Chhoila is a traditional Newari dish made with marinated and grilled buffalo meat. In this recipe, we will be making a delicious variation called Fried Haku Chhoila.

Fried Haku Chhoila (तल्ला हाकु छोयला)

Ingredients

  • 500g buffalo meat, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the buffalo meat with mustard oil, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan on the stovetop and add the marinated buffalo meat. Cook until the meat is tender and slightly crispy.
  3. Once the meat is cooked, add chopped green chilies and onion. Stir-fry for a few minutes.
  4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
