Fried Hokkien Mee (炒福建面)
炒福建面 (Fried Hokkien Mee) is a popular Malaysian Chinese dish that features thick yellow noodles stir-fried with a flavorful combination of seafood, meat, and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 400g Hokkien noodles
- 200g prawns, shelled and deveined
- 200g chicken, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 stalks spring onions, chopped
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
Instructions
- Boil the Hokkien noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a wok over high heat.
- Stir-fry the prawns and chicken until they are cooked, then remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining cooking oil in the wok and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
- Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Push the cabbage to the side of the wok and pour the beaten eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until set.
- Add the cooked prawns, chicken, and Hokkien noodles to the wok.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and white pepper. Stir-fry until well combined.
- Add the bean sprouts and spring onions, then stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
