Ingredients

  • 2 lbs milk fish, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 red chili, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the milk fish slices with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge the fish slices in cornstarch and shake off any excess.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  6. Pour the sauce over the fried milk fish and garnish with green onions and sliced red chili.
