Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of fresh onion stalks
  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the onion stalks, then cut them into 2-inch long pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Add a little water to make a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Dip the onion stalk pieces in the batter, making sure they are well coated.
  5. Gently drop the coated onion stalks into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the fried onion stalks from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
