Fried Onion Stalks with Shrimp, known as Piajkoli Chingri Bhaja in Sylheti cuisine, is a delicious and crispy dish that combines the flavors of fresh shrimp with the unique taste of onion stalks.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup onion stalks, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Marinate the shrimp with turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion stalks and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Add the cooked shrimp back to the pan and toss with the onion stalks for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
