Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dried fruits and nuts. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just incorporated. Fold in the dried fruit and nut mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
