Ingredients
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter

- 1 pre-made pie crust

- 3 eggs

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sugar, and cook until the onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Place the pie crust in a tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork. Sprinkle half of the grated Gouda cheese over the crust.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the cheese in the tart crust.
- Spoon the caramelized onions over the egg mixture and sprinkle the remaining Gouda cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the tart cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
