Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sumac
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
- 1 package (16 ounces) store-bought pizza dough
Instructions
- In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until translucent.
- Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted.
- Stir in the sumac, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the toasted pine nuts. Let the spinach mixture cool.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a small circle.
- Place a spoonful of the spinach mixture in the center of each dough circle.
- Pinch the edges of the dough together to form a triangle, enclosing the spinach filling.
- Place the fatayer on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
