福建炒年糕 (Fujian-style Fried Rice Cakes) is a traditional dish from Fujian Cuisine that is popular during Chinese New Year celebrations. This dish features chewy rice cakes stir-fried with a variety of ingredients, creating a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound rice cakes
- 4 ounces pork, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups napa cabbage, sliced
- 3 scallions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Soak the rice cakes in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add the pork and stir-fry until cooked. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok, then add the garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the napa cabbage and scallions, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the rice cakes, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and white pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and continue to stir-fry until the rice cakes are tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
- Return the cooked pork to the wok and stir to combine.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
