Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup ground Arabic coffee beans
  • 4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground saffron (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the ground coffee, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and saffron to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  5. Strain the coffee into cups and sweeten with sugar if desired.
