Ingredients

  • 500g fresh fish fillets, deboned and skinless
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place the fish fillets in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped fish, onion, garlic, green chili, coriander, parsley, cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the breadcrumbs and beaten eggs to the fish mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small patties and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the fish cakes until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with a side of chili sauce or chutney.
