Georgian Dumplings
Georgian dumplings, also known as khinkali, are a traditional Georgian dish that is loved for its juicy filling and flavorful broth. These dumplings are perfect for a cozy family dinner or a gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon salt for boiling water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Add 1/2 cup of water to the meat mixture and mix well.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each circle.
- Gather the edges of the dough and twist them together to create a topknot, making sure the filling is completely sealed inside.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
