- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (120°F to 130°F).
- Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
- Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
- Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 12x10-inch rectangle.
- In a small bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread over dough to within 1/2 inch of edges.
- Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal.
- Cut into 12 slices. Place cut side down in a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.
