Ghuraiba (saudi Arabian Almond And Cardamom Cookies)
Ghuraiba is a popular Saudi Arabian cookie made with almonds and flavored with cardamom. These delicate and crumbly cookies are perfect for enjoying with a cup of Arabic coffee or tea.
Ingredients
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- 24 whole blanched almonds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, powdered sugar, ground cardamom, and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil and rose water to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gently press a whole blanched almond into the center of each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
