Gimbap Seaweed Rice Rolls (김밥)
Gimbap, also known as Kimbap, is a popular Korean seaweed rice roll that is perfect for a light meal or snack. It's filled with a variety of ingredients and is great for picnics, lunchboxes, or as an appetizer.
Ingredients
- 5 sheets of seaweed (gim)
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 3 eggs, beaten and cooked into thin omelets
- 6 crab sticks
- 6 strips of ham
- Sesame oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat.
- Spread a thin layer of rice over the seaweed, leaving a small border at the top.
- Arrange the carrot, cucumber, egg, crab stick, and ham in a line across the center of the rice.
- Roll the gimbap tightly using the sushi mat, sealing the edge with a little water.
- Brush the gimbap with sesame oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Cut the roll into bite-sized pieces and serve.
