Ginataang Alimasag Adventure

Ingredients

  • 1 kg live crabs, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 thumbs ginger, sliced
  • 2-3 pieces red chili peppers
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
  2. Saute the garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the crabs to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the red chili peppers and fish sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cover the pot and let the crabs simmer in the coconut milk sauce for 20-25 minutes, or until the crabs are fully cooked.
  7. Once the crabs are cooked, transfer to a serving dish and pour the coconut milk sauce over the crabs.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
