Ginataang Baka (beef Curry)
Ginataang Baka, also known as Beef Curry, is a popular dish in Filipino Chinese Cuisine. This creamy and flavorful curry is made with tender beef, vegetables, and coconut milk, creating a rich and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 thumb-sized ginger, julienned
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 2 cups water
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 carrot, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the beef cubes and cook until browned.
- Sprinkle curry powder over the beef and stir to coat evenly.
- Pour in coconut milk and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
- Add potatoes and carrots, and continue to simmer until the vegetables are cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy with steamed rice.
