Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons fresh ginger, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Add the green onions, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, sesame oil, white pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
