- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions

- In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks until well combined.
- Gradually pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a custard consistency.
- Remove the custard from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg until stiff peaks form.
- To assemble the trifle, layer the soaked gingerbread, custard, and whipped cream in a trifle dish, repeating until all ingredients are used up.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
