Goan Prawn Balchao
Goan Prawn Balchao is a spicy and tangy prawn pickle from the Anglo-Indian cuisine, packed with flavors and perfect for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4-5 dried red chilies
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 6-8 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the dried red chilies, ginger, and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the turmeric powder, tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the prawns and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
