Ingredients
- 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 10-12 dry red chilies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Grind the dry red chilies and cumin seeds to a fine paste using a food processor or mortar and pestle.
- Marinate the prawns with turmeric powder and a pinch of salt for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger until golden brown.
- Add the ground chili paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the marinated prawns and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the vinegar and simmer for another 10 minutes until the prawns are cooked and the sauce thickens.
- Adjust the seasoning and serve hot with steamed rice or crusty bread.
