Goan Style Mutton Korma

Ingredients

  • 500g mutton, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3-4 green chilies, slit
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the mutton pieces with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Cook for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add the marinated mutton and cook on medium heat until the mutton is tender.
  5. Pour in the coconut milk and garam masala. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
