Goat Curry (khasi Ko Masu)
Goat Curry, also known as Khasi Ko Masu, is a popular Nepalese dish that is rich in flavor and spices. This slow-cooked curry is a perfect blend of tender goat meat and aromatic spices, making it a comforting and hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 1 kg goat meat, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2-inch ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add goat meat pieces and cook until browned.
- Stir in cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Pour in the pureed tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in water, cover the pot, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
