Goat Curry (khasi Ko Masu)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg goat meat, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add goat meat pieces and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  6. Pour in the pureed tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour in water, cover the pot, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is tender.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
