Gobi Desert Stir-Fry (Говь айраг хуушуур)
Говь айраг хуушуур (Gobi Desert Stir-Fry) is a traditional Mongolian dish that features tender pieces of meat and fresh vegetables stir-fried to perfection. This flavorful and nutritious dish is a staple in Mongolian cuisine, known for its use of simple ingredients and bold flavors.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
- Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in the same skillet. Add the onion, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and water. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients.
- Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
- Serve the Gobi Desert Stir-Fry hot and enjoy!
