Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup of cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gobi Manchurian by coating the cauliflower florets in a mixture of cornstarch, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper. Deep fry until golden brown and set aside.
  2. In a separate pan, heat some oil and sauté the ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Add the onions and bell peppers, and cook until they are slightly tender.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, tomato ketchup, and chili garlic sauce. Add the cooked rice and mix well.
  4. Add the fried cauliflower florets to the rice mixture and toss gently to combine.
  5. Garnish with chopped spring onions and fresh cilantro before serving.
