Gold Bars
Gold bars are a delicious and indulgent treat that are perfect for special occasions or as a luxurious dessert. These bars are rich, buttery, and topped with a layer of decadent chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot crust. Let them sit for a few minutes to soften, then spread the chocolate evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the melted chocolate if desired.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
