Golden Lion Spicy Tofu (金狮辣味豆腐)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced bell peppers and cook until slightly softened.
  5. Stir in the green onions, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and vegetable broth.
  6. Return the tofu to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the Golden Lion Spicy Tofu hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
