Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 12 sheets phyllo dough
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped spinach, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, dill, mint, green onions, eggs, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush a 9x13 inch baking dish with melted butter. Place one sheet of phyllo dough in the dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat with 5 more sheets of phyllo, brushing each sheet with butter.
- Spoon the spinach mixture over the phyllo layers and spread evenly.
- Layer the remaining 6 sheets of phyllo over the spinach mixture, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Score the top layer of phyllo into squares or triangles using a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve.
