Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef bones
  • 1 lb beef brisket
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 ginger root, sliced
  • 8 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place beef bones and brisket in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, skimming off any foam that rises to the surface.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pot and continue to simmer for an additional hour.
  3. Remove the beef brisket, slice it thinly, and set aside.
  4. Strain the broth and discard the solids. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve the gomtang in bowls, topped with the sliced beef brisket.
