Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into cubes
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tomato puree, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes or until the lamb is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
