Ingredients

  • 500g mutton, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add mutton pieces and cook until they are browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook until the oil separates.
  5. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the mutton. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add garam masala and salt. Cover and cook until the mutton is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
