Gosht Shashlik (spiced Beef Kebabs)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, vegetable oil, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Thread the marinated beef, onion, and bell pepper onto skewers.
  4. Heat a grill or a stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the kebabs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  5. Serve the Gosht Shashlik hot with naan or rice.
