Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 head of garlic, roasted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, warm water, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Press the dough into a rectangle shape.
  5. Press the roasted garlic cloves and chopped rosemary into the dough, then drizzle with the remaining olive oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  6. Let the dough rise for another 20 minutes while preheating the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Bake the focaccia for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
