Gram Flour Dumplings, also known as Rajasthani Gatte Ki Sabzi, is a traditional North Indian dish that features gram flour dumplings cooked in a flavorful yogurt-based curry. This dish is a popular vegetarian option and is best served with steamed rice or Indian bread.
Ingredients
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, and salt.
- Add yogurt and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into cylindrical dumplings.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently drop the dumplings into the water. Boil for 10-12 minutes, then remove and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the boiled dumplings to the pan and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in garam masala and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or Indian bread.
