Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed candied fruits
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the candied fruits and nuts. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  4. Stir in the fruit and nut mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
