Greek Keftedes (Κεφτέδες)
Kεφτέδες (Greek Keftedes) are delicious Greek meatballs that are perfect for a flavorful appetizer or a main course. They are made with a combination of ground meat, herbs, and spices, and are typically served with tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the meatballs in the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the keftedes hot with tzatziki sauce and enjoy!
