Greek Keftedes (Κεφτέδες)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place the meatballs in the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.
  5. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the keftedes hot with tzatziki sauce and enjoy!
