Greek-style Grilled Lamb Burger With Tzatziki

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices for garnish
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed to remove excess moisture
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground lamb, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the lamb patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  3. While the patties are grilling, prepare the tzatziki sauce by combining the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute or two until lightly charred.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty on each bun, topping with lettuce, tomato, red onion slices, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
