Greek Tiropita (Τυρόπιτα)
Τυρόπιτα (Greek Tiropita) is a savory Greek pastry filled with a delicious mixture of cheeses and wrapped in crispy phyllo dough. This popular dish is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack.
Ingredients
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the feta, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, eggs, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
- Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into 3-inch strips. Cover the strips with a damp cloth to prevent them from drying out.
- Take one strip of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at the bottom of the strip and fold it over to form a triangle. Continue folding the strip to create a triangle-shaped tiropita. Repeat with the remaining strips and cheese mixture.
- Place the tiropitas on a baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the tiropitas are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
