Greek Tiropita (Τυρόπιτα)

Τυρόπιτα (Greek Tiropita) is a savory Greek pastry filled with a delicious mixture of cheeses and wrapped in crispy phyllo dough. This popular dish is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack.

Greek Tiropita (Τυρόπιτα)

Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the feta, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, eggs, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into 3-inch strips. Cover the strips with a damp cloth to prevent them from drying out.
  4. Take one strip of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at the bottom of the strip and fold it over to form a triangle. Continue folding the strip to create a triangle-shaped tiropita. Repeat with the remaining strips and cheese mixture.
  5. Place the tiropitas on a baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the tiropitas are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
