Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh green chana (green chickpeas)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates.
  5. Add the fresh green chana and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are tender.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Green chana is ready to be served hot as a snack or a side dish.
