Green Gram Pancake With Flattened Rice (pesarattu Poha)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole green gram
  • 1/2 cup flattened rice (poha)
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 small onion
  • Handful of fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Soak the green gram and flattened rice separately for 4-6 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked green gram, flattened rice, green chilies, and ginger into a smooth batter.
  3. Add salt and finely chopped onion and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter. Spread it into a thin pancake.
  5. Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side.
  6. Repeat with the remaining batter to make more pancakes.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
