Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced plantains to the skillet and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, and honey. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  8. Serve the grilled chicken with the makemba frites (fried plantains) and enjoy!
