Grilled Cottage Cheese (punjabi Paneer Tikka)

Ingredients

  • 500g cottage cheese (paneer), cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 tomato, cut into wedges
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Add the cottage cheese cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Thread the marinated cottage cheese, onion, bell pepper, and tomato onto skewers.
  4. Brush the skewers with oil and grill them over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the cottage cheese is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with mint chutney.
