Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (such as snapper or mackerel)
- 5 shallots, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, sliced

- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix together the shallots, garlic, chilies, lemongrass, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, and salt to form a marinade.
- Rub the marinade over the fish fillets and let them sit for 10 minutes.
- Brush the grill with oil and place the fish fillets on the grill. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
- While the fish is grilling, heat the vegetable oil in a pan and fry the kaffir lime leaves until fragrant.
- Serve the grilled fish with the fried kaffir lime leaves and the spicy sauce on the side.
