Grilled Goat with Spicy Tomato Sauce (Chèvre Braisé)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs goat meat, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the goat meat with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the goat meat and brown on all sides. Remove the meat and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add the chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and cayenne pepper. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree and bring to a simmer. Add the goat meat back to the pot.
  5. Cover and let the goat meat braise for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until tender.
  6. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Serve the braised goat with the spicy tomato sauce on top.
